Beyond Bryant StreetKandee Seldmeyer dreams of going to Paris and getting off Bryant Street . She wants to move beyond the yards littered with junker cars, the houses were broken windows don't disguise the fighting and the people who can't seem to see beyond their own neighborhood. But the new boy on the street offers alternatives to Kandee's dreams as her mother continues to bring home one new boyfriend after another, adding to the obstacles she already faces. When her mother tries to force Kandee into a situation where she knows she and her younger sister will be forever lost, Kandee must choose her family or herself.  This is a young adult novel. 

Watching Zora—What Zora McHenry wants more than anything is to begin high school with her best friend Marcie and just blend into the crowd. But with Laura as her mother, a bevy of the town’s oddest characters as family friends and a new neighbor who definitely stands out from the crowd, that’s unlikely to happen. When the new neighbors are threatened by racial violence and innocents are arrested, Zora has to decide if she’s willing to stand up for what she knows is right. This is a young adult novel.  

The Herbalist—When Charlotte Wong visits an herbalist in her home country of the Philippines , she has no idea her actions will have repercussions years later. While living in New York , Charlotte ’s visit returns to her in the form of a distressed young woman whose life, countries and generations away, has also been drastically altered by the same woman. Both women seek to discover if it’s possible to heal something they don’t fully understand. This is an adult novel.  

Softer for the Wear—Joanna wants to save the world. Janie wants to design world famous fashions. Carla wants her daughters to have it all, within her own parameters, which don't encompass either girl's dreams. As the three women struggle to understand one another, the world is changing around them, presenting them each with reasons why they can never accomplish what they truly want without the help of the women who most understand them. This is an adult novel.
